MONTHLY NEWS LETTER
Tragos Security Services has had many great things happen this past month – from new members to positive arrests being made. Amazing work from the community and Tactical Response Team.
New Members:
We would like to welcome all new members who have joined us in this time. We are truly glad to have you on our team and part of the family. Thank you for joining us to help prevent and fight crime – together we CAN and WILL make a difference.
What a Difference a Call on the Radio Makes:
These are just a few of the many positive results that Tragos Security Services have accomplished with the help of their great community. (Don’t forget to keep track of the articles in the Record).
- 11 June 2011 – Community members spotted a Kia Sportage driving recklessly in Zambesi Drive. Back-up was requested and the chase started. RP1, 2, 3 and community responded. The driver skipped all robots from Baviaanspoort, Jan Coetzee Street and Stormvoël road right into Eersterust where he collided with a fully loaded Taxi. The driver jumped out, ran away and left the vehicle to hit a lamp post. Great support was given by our community! The vehicle was reported as a hijacked vehicle which we recovered.
- 19 June 2011 – Community member reported a suspicious green Honda Ballade in the Kilner Park area with 4 males inside. RP3 and community members followed the vehicle until it stopped and started to throw out computer screens. SAPS arrived to the scene and found the vehicle not roadworthy, impounded the vehicle and arrested the suspects.
- 23 June 2011 – A community member phoned in to our Control Room to report that his neighbour is burning copper cables. The control room dispatched RP2. Members of the community on our radio system also went to the address to assist. On arrival the suspects fled the scene. When the Metro officers arrived they searched the premises and recovered Copper cables, water meters as well as stolen ID’s, wallets, bank and credit cards.
- 05 July 2011 – Our control room received a burglary alarm notification in the evening. There were suspects entering the tuck shop at FH Odendaal School. RP2 & RP3 responded as well as community members who were willing to help. They realized that the suspects were entering the building through the roof and caught the 3 guys in the act! SAPS were notified and 3 positive arrests were made.
COMMUNITY RADIO PROJECT:
Tragos Security Services Radio Project has been a huge success, resulting in some positive arrests. Tragos Tactical Response Unit in conjunction with the community have caught Cable Thieves, Burglars, Drug Lords, Rapists and even recovered Stolen Cars and Stolen Goods. Our aim is to get a Community Radio in every home and business so that you can also be our eyes and ears.

If something does go wrong at home or mommy and daddy get sick, the children can call for help.
