Doornpoort Community Crime Forum falls under the auspices of the Sinoville Community Policing Forum of the Sinoville Police Station (www.gpfsinoville.co.za). There are 7 sectors in the Sinoville precinct – Doornpoort is known as Sector 2.

Doornpoort makes use of a Bulk SMS system to inform residents of any crime activity in the area. This system ensures that all members receive the same message at the same time. The cost of the new system is R20-00 per month (per cellphone number) or a once off amount of R200-00 for one year.  Your cell phone number will serve as your reference (read more on Buddie system. If you would like to join, please complete the Buddie system form so that your address details can be placed on record. If you have to send out a SMS in an emergency contact 074 133 4353. Once a person stops payment the number will be removed from the list and messages will no longer be sent to the relevant cellphone.

Doornpoort has a very effective neighbourhood patrol system. Our job is not to take over the work of the SAPS, but to be their eyes and ears and pass information on to them so that we can live in a crime free area. Our visibility is a subtle way of letting prospective criminals knowing that we are out and about and know their moves. Our patrol vehicles can be recognised by the signage on the motor vehicle doors. If you would like to become involved, please contact Trevor – 082 555 2537 or patrols2@doornpoortcrime.co.za
